Designing a grandfather clock for Sweeney Todd’s barber room meant drawing from Tim Burton’s worlds, blending the dark tones of Sweeney Todd with the whimsy of films like Nightmare Before Christmas and Alice in Wonderland.

The clock, a key feature in the otherwise bare room, was crafted to heighten its eerie mood. Shaping the wood into exaggerated curves gave it a strange, almost playful character, while its placement turned it into a silent witness to Todd’s crimes. The ticking, swaying pendulum, and sudden flicker of light added tension, while the clock face, placed unusually on the pendulum, hinted at deception. The result was an unsettling yet memorable object that deepened the atmosphere of the scene.
